Introduction

Knowledge of Electrical earthing systems is crucial when dealing with electrical installation. Electrical Safety is common to all and applicable everywhere with a good earthing system. (e.g., from Residential premises to industrial and commercial). Laws, Regulations, codes of Practice and other procedures, awareness programs, and in-house training provide an understanding of the nature of electrical incidents and reduce/minimize the impact on the People, Property, and Live stocks.

In General, the above training practices are mainly associated with electrical-related jobs (e.g., Electricians, Electrical Technicians, Electrical Engineers, etc.). But, in reality, most of us use home appliances/extension cords, etc., In this sense, we believe in understanding Electrical earthing knowledge and awareness for all. So that we can minimize/prevent electrical incidents/accidents. However, the design part applies to electrical practitioners, Hence, we designed this curriculum to suit and provide a better understanding of Electrical earthing systems for all.

Objective

This one-day course covers basic knowledge of earthing & bonding, SS551 and salient points design concepts of earthing system, testing methods, etc.. There will be breaks between sessions, allow Q and A, continuous assessment in the form of random quizzes, Past incidents thru case studies, and group discussions to strengthen the knowledge/awareness of Electrical Safety.

This course is mostly suitable for Electrical consultants, Licensed Electrical Workers (LEWs), workers, and supervisors and includes practitioners who are electricians, electrical technicians, engineers, technical executives, supervisors, etc., dealing with electrical installation design, construction, operation, and maintenance work, etc. However, others who want to know more about the earthing system and safety also can attend.
