Er. M. Selvam has more than 35 years of working experience in the Electrical industry, consisting of HV & LV distribution network development, operations, and maintenance. Inclusive of 14 years of work experience in SP Power Grid (SP Group) as a Technical Officer, Senior Engineer & 2 years of work experience as a Principal Trainer at the Singapore Institute of Power and Gas (SIPG).

His area of expertise in Project Management, Electrical Installation Design, Planning of distribution networks, Protection systems, Training Consultancy.

Er. Selvam is also a Practicing Licensed Engineer (up to 22kV), Professional Engineer (Electrical), Certified trainer, Curriculum Developer, and Assessor.

In addition, he is an associate trainer at the Singapore Institute of Power and Gas (SIPG), Director of 22 Power Electric Pte Ltd, and Technical Consultant for Singah Consultants.

Er.Lee Poh Choo Nicholas has had more than 40 years’ experience in the public utility sector, and amongst the pioneers that brought power to every household in Singapore under the rural electrification project, that was successfully implemented by end of 1974.

In the inception years of Singapore Power, He had the privilege of developing key milestone capabilities like predictive and condition-based maintenance; and a slew of condition monitoring techniques including the implementation of Data Acquisition system, bringing about improved network reliability and power quality.

In the last few years before his retirement from Singapore Power, his focus was on international consultancy and training services to the utility companies in China, Middle East, India, and South Africa. During which, he had the opportunity to act as a change agent. He also participated in the conceptualization and the creation of the Knowledge Management capabilities for Singapore Power.

His areas of expertise include Protection, SCADA, Expert System and Communication, Power Quality Management, Condition Monitoring and Knowledge Management. His experience includes the operation of power generators, planning, development and management of electrical distribution networks. Currently he is an associate trainer of Singapore Institute of Power and Gas (SIPG).

He obtained his Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Singapore. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Singapore Professional Engineers Board.

Er.Lim Han Cheong

Er.Lim Han Cheong

BEng (EE). MSc (IE), LLB (Hons), BSc (Economics) Hons, P.Eng. C.Eng. Sr MIES, MIET, ACS, ACG

Er.Lim Han Cheong is Principal Consultant of Pinnacle Engineering and Management Consultancy, a translator, an advisor for parties in adjudication as well as a certified ACTA trainer and assessor. He also holds DipBA, SDipECT, SDipFMA, ADipMD, CDipAF and GCIA.

He has had more than 30 years experience in the transmission and distribution network development, operations and maintenance, street lighting operations, management of safety and security units and support services for the company’s operation. In dispute resolution aspect, he is a SOPA accredited adjudicator, a fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and an accredited mediator of SISV Panel of Mediators. He was Director (Contracts) of the Network Development Division, SP PowerGrid, before venturing into training and management consultancy services.

Er.Tan Chong Poh

Er.Tan Chong Poh obtained his Degree in Electrical Engineering (Hons) from Nanyang Technological University and Master of Science (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Singapore. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Singapore Professional Engineers Board.

His working experiences included maintenance, operations & commissioning of 6.6kV & 22kV substations of distribution system; planning and design of electrification schemes for provision of electricity supply and inspection & testing of electrical installations based on SS638, SS650 Part1 & Part2 and other relevant Regulations and Code of Practices. He is currently serving as a deputy chairman of Technical Committee 3 (TC3) for Power System & Utilization and a member of the Working Group on Code of Practice for Earthing and Working Group on Temporary Electrical Installation as well as a member of Working Group on Smart Switched Socket Outlet (SSSO) with Enterprises Singapore.

He has representing SP Group as a speaker for several training courses and seminars on Singapore Standards SS638 and SS650 for safe electrical installation to professional engineers, technicians, electricians and electrical contractors organized separately by Institute of Engineers Society (IES); Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES); Energy Market Authority; Enterprises Singapore (formerly SPRING Singapore); Singapore Institute of Power and Gas (SIPG); Land Transport Authority; CPG Laboratories and Nanyang Technological University. He is also a part-time lecture of the Singapore Polytechnic to teach Diploma course on Electrical Engineering.
