Electrical Engineering Training Institute Pte Ltd (EETI)

Course Fee Refund and Cancellation Policy

Company Registration No. (UEN): 202241815H

Effective date: [23 October 2026]     Version: 1.0

Applies to all course registrations and payments made through eeti.com.sg

1. Purpose and Scope

(a)    This Policy sets out when, how much, and how course fees paid to Electrical Engineering Training Institute Pte Ltd ("EETI", "we", "us") are refunded. It applies to every course, workshop and training programme purchased through our website, eeti.com.sg, which is operated on the Shopify platform.

(b)    This Policy forms part of the terms on which you register for a course. By completing payment, you confirm that you have read and accepted this Policy, our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

(c)     This Policy is published on our website and made available before payment so that you know the refund terms, including any amounts that are not refundable, before you commit to a purchase.

2. Key Definitions

(a)    "Course Fee" means the total amount you paid at checkout for a course, including GST where applicable.

(b)    "Course Start Date" means the first day of the course as shown on the course page and in your order confirmation.

(c)     "Payment Processing Fees" means the transaction fees deducted from the Course Fee by Shopify Payments and/or the card network or payment service provider (for example Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay) when the payment is made. These fees are charged by third parties and are not returned to EETI when a refund is issued.

(d)    "Net Received Amount" means the Course Fee less the Payment Processing Fees, being the amount for your order that is actually deposited into EETI's bank account, as shown in the Shopify payout record for that transaction.

(e)    "Days" means calendar days (including weekends and public holidays), counted in Singapore time (UTC+8). The Course Start Date itself is not counted.

3. Refund Schedule for Withdrawals by the Participant

If you withdraw from a course, the refund you receive depends on when EETI receives your written refund request:

When EETI receives your written refund request

Refund entitlement

14 calendar days or more before the Course Start Date

100% refund

100% of the Net Received Amount

7 calendar days or more, but fewer than 14 calendar days, before the Course Start Date

50% refund

50% of the Net Received Amount

No refund

Nil

(a)    Refunds under this Section are calculated on the Net Received Amount, not on the full Course Fee, because the Payment Processing Fees are charged by Shopify and the card or payment provider and are not returned to EETI when a refund is made.

(b)    Once a course is fewer than 7 days away, EETI will already have committed trainers, venue, materials and seats for that run, and the seat generally cannot be resold. For this reason no refund is given for withdrawals within 7 days of the Course Start Date, on or after the Course Start Date, or for non-attendance.

(c)     Partial attendance does not entitle the participant to a partial refund.

4. How to Request a Refund

(a)    All refund requests must be made in writing by email to training@eeti.com.sg with the subject line "Refund Request – [Order Number]".

(b)    Please include: (a) the participant's full name; (b) the Shopify order number; (c) the course title and Course Start Date; and (d) the reason for withdrawal (optional).

(c)     The date of the request is the date and time (Singapore time) that the email is received in EETI's mailbox. Requests made by phone, WhatsApp or social media must be confirmed by email to be valid.

(d)    EETI will acknowledge your request within two (2) working days and confirm the refund amount in writing.

5. Refund Method and Processing Time

(a)    Same account only. Refunds are made only to the original payment method and account used to pay the Course Fee through eeti.com.sg. EETI does not make refunds in cash, by cheque, by bank transfer, to a different card or account, or to any third party.

(b)    Processing by EETI. EETI will initiate an approved refund through Shopify within seven (7) working days of confirming the refund amount.

(c)     Time to reach your account. After EETI initiates the refund, the time taken for the funds to appear in your account is determined by the platform and service provider that handled the transaction (for example Shopify Payments, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay or your card-issuing bank). This is commonly up to 10 business days but may be longer. EETI does not control these timelines.

(d)    If the original card or account has been closed or replaced, please contact your card issuer or bank, who will normally credit the refund to your new card or account. EETI can provide a refund reference number to help trace the refund.

6. Course Cancellation or Rescheduling by EETI

(a)    EETI may cancel or reschedule a course due to insufficient enrolment, trainer unavailability, venue issues, government directives or other circumstances beyond our control. We will notify registered participants as early as possible.

(b)    If EETI cancels a course, or reschedules it and you are unable to attend the new date, you may choose either: (a) a transfer to the rescheduled or another available course run at no additional charge; or (b) a full refund of the Course Fee you paid. As the cancellation is initiated by EETI, the refund will not be reduced by Payment Processing Fees.

7. Exceptional Circumstances

(a)    In exceptional cases, such as the hospitalisation or serious illness of the participant (supported by a medical certificate) or a death in the immediate family, EETI may at its discretion consider a transfer to a later course run or a goodwill refund outside the schedule in Section 3. Each case is assessed individually and such a decision does not create a precedent.

8. Company-Sponsored Registrations

(a)    Where a course is paid for by a company or organisation, the refund schedule in Section 3 applies in the same way, and any refund is made only to the account used for the original payment.

9. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

(a)    If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us first at training@eeti.com.sg so we can try to resolve it quickly. This does not affect any right you may have to raise a dispute with your card issuer.

10. Your Statutory Rights

(a)    This Policy is intended to be fair and transparent and is consistent with the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 of Singapore and the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) Guidelines on Price Transparency, including the upfront disclosure of non-refundable third-party fees.

(b)    Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits any right or remedy you may have under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003, the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, or any other applicable law of Singapore, for example where a course is not delivered as described.

11. Personal Data

(a)    Personal data you provide when requesting a refund (such as your name, contact details and order details) will be collected, used and disclosed only for the purpose of processing your refund, including sharing necessary transaction details with Shopify and the relevant payment service providers, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and our Privacy Policy.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

(a)    We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve any concern amicably.

(b)    If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, individual consumers may seek assistance from the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) for mediation, or file a claim with the Small Claims Tribunals of Singapore, where eligible.

(c)     This Policy is governed by the laws of Singapore.

13. Changes to this Policy

(a)    EETI may update this Policy from time to time. The version published on eeti.com.sg at the time you made payment will apply to your registration.
