Introduction
Power Quality (PQ) has always been important to electrical utilities, facility owners and end users of electrical power. It has been increasingly so in the last decade due to newer electronic equipment, which is more sensitive, increased emphasis on energy efficiency – leading to the growth of energy-efficient devices which results in higher harmonics and increased PQ awareness among end users.
Objective:
This 1-day course aims to provide a good understanding of the fundamental power quality concepts for conducting a proper power quality monitoring and assessment. There will be breaks between sessions, allow Q and A, Continuous assessment in the form of random quizzes, activities to re-call and re-instate what have been taught in class will be carried out to enhance the learning process e.g., reflective practices and social learning etc.
Who Should Attend
This course is suitable for experienced power engineering personnel, engineers, technicians and electricians etc, who seek an appreciation of Power Quality and its effects on the grid supply and equipment.
Besides, the course is suitable for the practitioners, Engineers who wish to know more about the Power quality.
What Participants Will Learn:
This course is crafted to understand the power quality and applications. Also, the Participants, learn to identify the various PQ problems, its standards, guidelines and applications. This includes on how to conduct a proper PQ assessment and PQ submission to the local authority.
